Coconut-Jaggery Filling Stars

  • Stars:
  • 11/2 cup Jowar Flour
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 Green Cardamom powder
  • 5 teaspoon Sugar powder
  • 1 teaspoon Clarified Butter/Ghee
  • Filling:
  • ½ cup Jaggery powder
  • ½ cup Coconut grated
  • 2 Green Cardamom powder
  • Extra Clarified Butter/Ghee for frying.
  1. To begin making Coconut-Jaggery Filling Star,first take a big bowl and mix jowar flour, powdered sugar, ghee and cardamom powder.
  2. Slowly add the water and knead well about 8 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough in halves and roll flat on clean oiled surface.
  4. Take two size star shape cookie cutters and cut out as many as possible stars from rolled jowar dough in two different shapes one big and one small of equal numbers.
  5. Heat the frying pan with Ghee and fry both sides for about 10 minutes for each batch.
  6. Meanwhile heat another frying pan, add jaggery powder then green cardamom powder finally fresh grated coconut and stir fry for about 10 minutes or less.
  7. Pick a serving platter and place the bigger jowar star cookies, topping with coconut jaggery mixture then cover with the small stars cookies, just like a sandwich.
  8. Garnish with grated coconut.
